Introduction:
The Computer Laboratories are administered by the Computing Services Centre (CSC) of the Hong Kong Shue Yan University and are open for HKSYU staff & students ONLY. Except those authorized persons, no other persons are allowed to enter the laboratories.
General Regulation:
1. Computer Labs are strictly for academic research or study purposes only.
2. Users permitted to use one computer at a time to ensure fair utilization of computer resources.
3. Users use computers, keyboards, mice, and other equipment with caution to prevent damage.
After use, shut down the computer and ensure all devices are returned to their proper places.
Users are responsible for any loss or damage to components during use.
4. If you encounter any problems in the computer lab, such as computer malfunctions, network
issues, or equipment damage, report them to the Computing Services Centre.
Condition of use:
1. Food and drinks are not allowed in the computer lab, and smoking is strictly prohibited.
2. Respect the privacy and workspace of other users, refraining from behavior that may disturb them.
3. Games of any form are not allowed unless you need to do so for academic research or computer game design study.
4. Prohibit the use of computers for any illegal purposes, such as using other people's personal data without permission, spreading malicious software, conducting online fraud, illegal downloading, using, and sharing of copyrighted software/product that is protected by The Copyright Ordinance.
5. Any personal items left unattended in the lab (on the seat) for more than 30 minutes while
a. Valuables or non-valuables will be reported to the Facilities Management Office (FMO).
b. Food and drinks will be discarded instantly.
6. HKSYU takes no responsibility for the security of personal belongings. Users should always take care of their possession.
